At present, agriculture is beyond farming and it includes forestry, dairy, fruit cultivation, poultry, mushroom, processing, marketing and distribution of crops and livestock products etc. are alsoconsidered a part of agriculture. The growth of agriculture sector and the rise of farmer’s income are very critical for India’s economy. In addition to providing food and raw material, agriculture also provides employment opportunities to a large section of Indian population.
The School offers 4- year B.Sc. (Honors) programmesin Agriculture. Theprogrammefocuses on various disciplines of agricultural science like Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Entomology, Microbiology and Animal Husbandry etc.
