OBJECTIVE
As a result of globalization there is tremendous pressure to perform or deliver. Hence the technologies to be adopted by the industries are to be latest and most efficient to facilitate growth. Significant achievements have been made worldwide in the area of mechanical engineering like design, manufacturing, thermal systems, production and automation etc., and still considerable innovative research is being continued to address the technical and economical challenges. In such a scenario it is necessary to discuss the recent developments in the field of mechanical engineering and its allied areas. Therefore the objective of the ‘National Conference on Recent Trends in Mechanical Engineering’ (NCRTME-2011) is to focus on education, R&D and practical applications of mechanical engineering and provide a broad platform to bring together researchers, Engineers and industries to exchange and share experience, innovative ideas about the advancement in mechanical engineering and discuss critical changes encountered and solutions adopted.
ABOUT MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The Mechanical Engineering Department of Lingaya’s University was established in the year 1998 with highly qualified, well experienced and dedicated faculty. The aim of this department is to provide education on modern mechanical systems as well as sound theoretical knowledge to meet evolving needs and demand of the modern industries. A sound theoretical and practical work prepares the students to take up the challenges of the Modern Industries. The department also runs PG courses in Design and Production Engineering. It has also created good infrastructure facilities to undertake research and consultancy work.
