Electrical & Electronics Department has the unique advantage of being the combination of both Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering and thus providing the students of this branch double benefit to study broader subjects which provide them double advantage for placements in companies of repute related to both the fields. Lingaya’s has the distinction of introducing the syllabus and scheme of studies for this branch for the first time in M.D.University and other Institutions adopted this later on. Electrical Engineering & Electronics Engineering is most sought-after, even by the toppers and higher rank holders at the time of admissions in IITs and NITs. With rapid Industrial growth in the Country and particularly in power Sector, Heavy Electrical Industries and Electronics Industries more and more private sector companies are entering this segment resulting in opening of enormous job opportunities for graduate Electrical & Electronics Engineers.
With the objectives of transforming our students into efficient and capable technical professionals, having sound knowledge with analytical ability, creativity and professional competence, we impart necessary training to our graduates and make them competent enough to take on the professional responsibility in the world around them and grow and excel in what ever field they choose.
The Department has experienced faculty members who are guided by Prof. (Dr.) S. Mukhopadhayay, Dean Electrical Sciences, having over 40 years of field and teaching experience and is regarded as an authority in Power Systems both in India as well as Abroad. He has authored many Research Papers in referred journals and books on Electrical as well as Electronics Engineering.
THE PROGRAMMES
U.G. Level (B.Tech): The Four year degree course is spread over Twelve Trimesters. The total subjects taught are 42 theory courses and over 40 Lab courses and each is examined during and at the end of the trimester by the University. Some of the courses taught are:-

INNOVATIVE PRACTICES
Various activities of department are “Students Centered”. Three pronged strategy is adopted for counseling & guidance of students. Firstly it is done at the level of subject teacher, secondly at the level of class counselor who counsels them on career, studies & personal problems and finally at the level of HOD. The students are not only guided on the methodology of learning but also how to improve their self study and self learning and consult library, internet, learning resource materials, etc. Department lays maximum stress on attitudinal improvement and hands on experience besides inculcating ethical, social and moral values. To develop leadership qualities, students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities. Conduct of seminars, debates and group discussion are regular features for overall personality development of the students. Students are also guided for competitive examinations at National levels and for higher studies in and out side the country.
PROJECTS AND INDUSTRY INTERACTION
Due to location advantage of being situated in NCR, large number of industrial organization are at close vicinity which provide excellent opportunities for students to undergo Industrial training during the course of studies and undertake Industrial projects. To name of few Bhartia Cutlar Hammer, GE Motors, ABB, Havell’s, Gemco Controllers, National Thermal Power Corporation Power Plants, Larson and Turbo, providing excellent industry interaction.
Some of the projects made by the students include, Programmable Logic Control System for Bhartia Cutler Hammer (BCH), Machines Access Control System, Microprocessor based Power Supply Control of a Multi-Storied Buildings, High Voltage Testing Device and Design of Fuzzy Logic Controller for Motion Control of? Mobile Robot, to name a few.
